Behind the design
When KD was a kid, a pair of bright orange Air Maxes from his mother's closet caught his eye. When they didn't fit his growing feet, his tireless work ethic was born to push himself, achieve legendary status, and one day have his own line of footwear. The colors of this version nod to the pair that started it all.
Speed and comfort
A large Air Zoom unit in the forefoot offers a different level of speed, whether running or standing. Delivers snappy pop when playback speeds up. Springy foam helps keep you cool until the last bell.
Padded and supportive
The bottom layer of the upper has Nike Air cushioning in the heel to add spring to your step. We put a piece of sturdy plastic in the forefoot to keep you supported.
Cut quickly
The sole pattern looks like a topographic map, with a series of contoured ridges that bend and deflect in multiple directions to provide traction with every movement.
Stable for the Court
A support piece under the arch adds stability.
KD17 Light Iron Ore. While Kevin Durant's status as an all-time player is already cemented, his playing soul cannot be calmed unless he is on the court, honing his craft. Strive to be great with the KD17, a shoe for gym lovers and those who insist on getting back to running. An Air Zoom unit in the forefoot improves your first step. We combined it with Nike Air cushioning to fuel full-court sprints and defensive stops that can decide games. This special design pays homage to the '90s. That's when KD fell in love with seeing basketball legends who he could model his game after.
